What I've Been Working On: October
Updates from October 2025
Work
I feel like I’ve found my footing at Inngest and I’ve been able to start actually making some “real changes”. I’ve been able to help ship some features that have real user impact, like userland tracing a la extended tracing middleware for the Inngest TypeScript SDK. I got to fix a bug in the Python SDK and Inngest OSS. I’ve also been working on some fun skunkworks projects that I’m excited for the chance to release in the near-ish future!
Outside of writing code, I was able to travel to Boston and meet many of my teammates at Inngest. It was a great opportunity to meet folks and I enjoyed myself.
Life
It’s been a busy month, even outside of work. I’ve been feeling a lot of pressure lately in a not-so-healthy way, and I tried to take some time to reset this month. I spent a night camping alone which was great — on the drive home I was a little freaked out because I felt so calm. I also spent a whole week doing my very best to be consistently chill. I slept late, I didn’t work out, and I made every effort to relax. It was really nice in a lot of ways, but I also kind of hated it?
Regardless, I say all of that to say that I didn’t put in enough volume with enough consistency to be worth typing out my workouts for the month of October. To be straight, I do not see that problem improving in November… but c’est la vie, I suppose?
I’ve definitely had better months.
I did really enjoy my short little camping trip. It was my first in a few years and the time spent alone was quite nice. I was unlucky enough for it to rain quite hard that night, so while I stayed mostly dry I definitely wasn’t able to spend as much time reading and writing as I wanted. I should do this more often.
